Topeak – Interbike 2011

A Handle Bar Mounted Touring DryBag! The thing we like about Topeak is that every year when we walk into their booth we find ourselves saying “Wow” more times than any other booth. Topeak has gone the extra mile year after year and they are not one for letting up! This year we saw everything from a new 29er rear rack to a bar mounted touring dry bag to great new tools and pumps. Some of which has been around and we have missed the write up previously and some is brand spanking new. Topeak does what more bicycle companies should take note of, they make it so you can USE your bike and on top of that they get you excited to do that.

The first thing Dorothy from Topeak walked us over to this year was their disc compatible rear rack for a 29er. Super good to see options arriving for this underserved market and this one looks sleek, nonetheless.

They always seem to have the little details covered and one of the little details for us is the need for coffee in the morning. The Modula Java Cage does the trick for that, carrying your thermos for you so you can make it to work ready to go. Need to carry any other odd sized bottles? Make sure to check out their other Modula series cages.

Then, something caught our eye more than much of the stuff we’ve seen, the Touring Handlebar DryBag, probably because we’re all gunning for a long mountain tour sooner rather than later. This thing is exactly what you would want on a tour. It’s right there in front of you. It carries everything (i.e. a camera, phone, wallet) without the risk of treating it to an unwanted bath. It has a frikin’ awesome magnetic flip open map bag. We’re smitten with this thing as if you can’t tell!
