Riding and Rhythm Fest 2010 Highlights

Riding and Rhyhtm Fest 2010 was a success!  The Steel Wheel Duo, who rode 400 miles this May with their instruments, played their last show at The Savoy in downtown Ypsilanti, MI.  In conjunction with the show was a cycling advocacy event including the Michigan Mountain Bike Association, The Ann Arbor Bicycle Touring Society, Bike Ypsi, The League of Michigan Bicyclists, and the Washtenaw Bicycling and Walking Coalition.  Thanks everybody for helping out!

Before the concert were three organized rides - a mountain bike trail ride, a traditional road ride, and a allycat style race.  Cyclists came back to the Savoy and dropped bikes off outside the venue.  Thanks Washtenaw Bicycling and Walking coalition for your help!

Before doors opened, we all mingled about outside relaxing from the rides and enjoying music by The Pickin’ Bubs, a Chicago based group who are avid cyclists.  Trent Wagler and Jay Lapp, from the Steel Wheel Duo, arrived by bike and hung outside, relaxing and talking about their adventures.

Soon enough doors opened, followed by an energetic set by Ann Arbor based roots music group, Wayward Roots.

Thanks to the generous support from Planet Bike and Geax, there were a ton of door prizes to hand out!  Scott got ancy and ended up throwing stuff into the audience, included carbon water bottle cages!  They loved it!

And then came the stellar set from the Steel Wheels Duo, a super energetic performance despite riding in the rain for two weeks!
