Salsa Cycles – Interbike 2012 (Video)

Thursday, September 27th, 2012

Two up and coming segments in cycling are the gravel scene and the travel scene. While many of us have spent our days peacefully riding on gravel roads, more and more events are starting to crop up based around that terrain. These aren’t your standard events. Most are long mile races started in mass, but once you leave the start line, you’re on your own. More often than not, they’re based on an honor system of completing the course.

Also gaining a lot of popularity is exploring the world by bike. Salsa has been supporting adventure riding for some time now but now they support those who travel and need to pack their bike up for flight. Check out the video and see!

Also make sure to check out our other post that includes photos of other bikes.

Jagwire Disc Brake Multi-Tool

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

Jagwire Disc Brake Multi Tool One of the most fun parts of the winter months is adding new products to our online catalog and finding hidden gems in the mix. One such product that we wanted to take a minute and highlight is the Jagwire Disc Brake Multi-Tool. One of the stand out features that is that it covers a short list of multiple purposes, all while remaining a component specific tool. Most “multi” tools try to do to much while cramming it into an almost unusable package. Don’t be fooled by the the multi tool name attached here, it is still very much an everyday shop tool that you’ll find in a tool box or on a work bench.

Saris – Interbike 2011

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

Saris Grand Fondo Saris has been one of our most popular rack companies to date, and with each passing season, they bring new ideas to the table. This year was no exception. Aside from the new racks, one of the most exciting aspects of what we saw was the use of common parts across the entire line. Where a number of competing companies design all new racks from the ground up, leaving replacement parts hard to find, Saris looks to previous racks for established designs. This means the new rack already has been proven in some ways and that it’s serviceable should you need to replace a part.

29er Forks

Rock Shox’s innovations continue to impress us year after year. This year they are introducing a few new carbon goodies, some new dampeners, and some new 29er forks. The 2011 Reba XX is being replaced by the SID XX, and the Reba will only go as high as an RLT model. The Reverb seatpost is getting a revamped threaded hose barb fitting to help keep the housing attached to the post.

Topeak – Interbike 2011

A Handle Bar Mounted Touring DryBag! The thing we like about Topeak is that every year when we walk into their booth we find ourselves saying “Wow” more times than any other booth. Topeak has gone the extra mile year after year and they are not one for letting up! This year we saw everything from a new 29er rear rack to a bar mounted touring dry bag to great new tools and pumps. Some of which has been around and we have missed the write up previously and some is brand spanking new. Topeak does what more bicycle companies should take note of, they make it so you can USE your bike and on top of that they get you excited to do that.
